Things to look for
when shopping for a groomer. I know that sounds odd, but really when you are calling around for different prices and not sure what to ask each groomer…well I’m going to give you some advice on what you can ask and look for in the groomer that will suit your dog(s) and yourself.
When you are talking to your groomer, do you feel comfortable to ask anything, you should. And your groomer should being will to try to answer all of your questions to the best of their ability. Granted there are some questions that might not be able to be answered over the phone, I know that I would let you know I would need to see your doggie to give you a better answer.
Is your potential groomer willing to let you stop by? Let check out the table where you dog(s) will be spending most of their time that day? Why not! Stop on by! I will spend the time you require to answer your questions and show you where I will be grooming your doggie(s).
Has your groomer never returned your calls? I understand groomers get busy and you may have to leave a message, but if we are not available because we are sending one of our fuzzy friends home or perhaps you have called after we have closed…NO WORRIES! Simply leave a message and we WILL call you back. We are happy you have chosen us as your groomer and made us a part of your doggie’s life.
What kind of shampoo does your require? The Doggie Den only uses hypoallergenic shampoos unless you ask us to use our medicated shampoo or if you doggie needs a flea bath. We also are more than happy to use your shampoo if you have one that you would rather be used on your dog…and we follow the instructions labeled. So if your doggie needs a soak…ITS NOT EXTRA! We are happy to help your doggie feel comfortable and we wait while he/she waits!
Have a puppy, yes we groom puppies…the sooner the better to start puppies. If your puppy has had all of his/her shots then there is no reason not to get him/her used to being groomed. This way they get to know us and can more easily adapt to being groomed.
Your doggie doesn’t have to start right away, that is okay too. We are happy to get your doggie used to grooming and make him/her feel comfortable.
